A New DS Synth Someday?

Brian, from reading some of your comments in various threads it sounds like you are already quite busy at present.  If you ever get the time, however, I was very interested when I read your comment in this thread:

I can't promise anything, as i already mentioned: i would rather do a completely new synth from scratch.

(my bolding added for emphasis)

That idea is very exciting to me.  I say that with no disparagement to DS1 as I can honestly say that I think DS1 is the best synth I have ever encountered and extremely versatile as well.  A completely new synth, however, could potentially have many of the same great features but have a different "flavor" in terms of the sounds it produced, effects, etc.  It never hurts to have another great tool.  And I would guess from your comment that you probably already have some ideas on what you might include in a new synth.  I'm sure you would make it great  Cool

Anyway, it sounds like you probably don't have the time to leap into a new project like that right now, but if you were wondering if there is any interest in that idea, there definitely is from me Smiley

Yes, that is true. I am tempted to do a new synth (someday), as my last one was done ten years ago Smiley. I have got lots of new ideas and the speed of the current processors give lots of new possibilies too.

Would be fun to work on a new synth!

Count on my interest too!   Cheesy I like the positiv input from Ted because with him together we could brainstorm about a new concept when the time for starting the development has arrived Brain.

I would also pay attention to newcomers who could also bring in some inspiration. I don't care if the synth would take even 2 years before finished. As i told i make music aslong as i breath & while i do i always will have some time to share for useful things. And in that case to help a friend.  Smiley

A new synth would be very exciting! Would cross-platform be a possibility?

Since I moved to OSX, I've missed DS so much that I'm recreating the DS1 default soundbank in Reason's Thor... Talk about reinventing the wheel!
