Audio Simulation is a German-Hungarian joint venture with a development base located in Budapest, Hungary (Europe). We are specialized in developing audio applications for the personal computer (PC) and other specialized/embedded platforms.
The company itself was established back in 1996, when we released one of the first realtime virtual synthesizers available for the PC (called AudioSim). The next milestone in the life of our small company was the release of DreamStation 1.0 virtual analog synthesizer workstation. Its internal sound engine has became a success which seems to last until the present days in the form of a DirectX Instrument plugin: DreamStation DXi. It was actually ordered by Twelve Tone Systems, Inc. (creators of Cakewalk, Sonar and Project 5) as one of the very first DirectX Instruments available on the market.
Since then, we have been working in the background mainly as third party developers and subcontractors of other companies in the console/gaming aswell as in the softsynth/effect market. Audio Simulation is currently running as a part time project.
We do not deny our roots either, sentimental threads are still attaching us to the old 8 bit computers, especially to the Commodore 64 which was a great platform and opportunity for us to learn what a computer and computer music mean.
